I saw these boys live on one of their last tours before Freddie Mercury’s illness slowed him down, eventually taking his life. A major loss.
Though they did a lot of great music, Bohemian Rhapsody is probably my absolute favorite. Some call it the greatest song ever written. I wouldn’t go that far, but it ranks in the top ten certainly.
I saw Queen way back when – end of the 1970′s, before they became a greatest hits band, by that I mean they played loads of stuff off their albums that weren’t released as singles. Bohemian Rhapsody is a great song but check out The March of the Black Queen, found on Queen 2, to hear a song that could have been BR’s forerunner.
A good tune. I really wish I could get the visuals for it from Wayne’s World out of my head, but it still rocks.
I know what you mean, Charles. A funny story I heard regarding Wayne’s World. You remember Tipper Gore’s crusade to put warning labels on music albums?
I remember seeing her comment that she really “loved Wayne’s World, especially the part where they lip-synched to that opera.”
