Carolina Panthers VS Washington Redskins
I was torn on who to pull for on this one. I favor both teams, the Panthers because they are the Carolina NFL member these days, the Redskins because they used to be and I’ve been a fan three times as long as Carolina’s forteen year existence.
Let’s face it. Neither team, I predict, will make the playoffs.
The Panthers started off rough, fumbling on a fourth and goal, losing the ball on the one. They did get a safety out of it though. Jake had an up and down game. A fumble lead to a touchdown and a really bad pick, high and behind Muhammed, led to another.
But after leading them to a touchdown and a two point conversion for a three point lead, the defense holding the ‘Skins, the Panthers were facing a third and eight inside their own twenty with the ‘Skins out of timeouts. A first would end the game. Jake fakes a handoff and rolls out to the right, running for his life toward the first down marker. Hit, he twists and manages to fall across and the game is over.
Panthers win 20-13. Whew!
Well, the Monday Night game was exciting. Five lead changes in the fourth quarter. Thirty-five points. Unfortunately for me, the wrong team won. The Dull-phins came out on top of my Jets, 31-27.
Ah well.
