1 & 2: The Cold Spot & The Coldest Mile – Tom Piccirilli: the story of Chase, a man raised by his grandfather to be a thief and getaway driver who breaks from the old man to when he crosses the line and goes on to pull his own jobs until he meets the “right’ woman and goes straight.
3: Fighting Man – Frank Gruber: the tale of a man with a reputation, unearned, who gets a chance to go straight intil someone from his past reveals his real identity. Made by Gruber into a 1949 movie, FIGHTING MAN OF THE PLAINS starring Randolph Scott. I’ve already posted a review HERE.
4: Burn Notice: The Giveaway – Tod Goldberg: a tie-in from one of my favorite series, a sort of light-hearted look at a spy’s life after he’s kicked out and becomes a savior of people ripped off or conned out of their life savings.
5: End of The World – Dean Owen: after a nuclear war, one man and his family and how they cope with the new order, which is no order at all. Ray Milland directed and starred in the 1962 film, PANIC IN YEAR ZERO. I have a review HERE.

I tried with BURN NOTICE but didn’t care for it. (I would give the Goldberg tie-in a chance though.)
I’m hooked on Burn Notice, partly because of the writing, so I’ll be mighty curious to hear what you think of this book.
I didn’t know there was a Burn Notice book out – my husband might like that. Enjoy!
Burn Notice looks like a fun read. Is it based on the tv show (never watched it bit I have heard of it)?
Kim, It’s actually the third book in the series by Tod Goldberg with a fourth already scheduled. It’s based on the TV series, but, as with books, the plots are a little more involved.
Have you read Picarilli’s westerns? “Coffin Blues” and so on. I have a copy of it but haven’t read it yet.
These are the first of Piccirilli’s books for me, Charles. A friend on Goodreads recommended The Cold Spot and I went ahead and ordered the sequel as well. If these are as good as I believe, I’ll probably try others.
Hey there – just swinging by for Monday to see what you are reading. Have a great week. Stop by The Wormhole to check out what I have gotten and what I have been reading too. Happy reading! Bev.
I could not get into BURN NOTICE either. But the husband loves it.
Looks like a great week. Happy Reading! Here’s mine if you wanna check it out.
