Of course I will not confuse these people with those who have real faith and are not engaged in publicity stunts. Oh no! I know too many good and decent people who would not find these people “religious.”

A bunch of flaming idiots. When “religion” and belief systems get involved, it seems common sense can pretty easily go out the window. The whole “kill for God” thing mystifies me too, but some religious sects do it.
Comic-Con is a mellow event, there have been attempts to use it for publicity before, but I don’t recall much happening except attendees ignoring them and (if called) cops telling them to move along. If they get a legal permit to demonstrate out side the San Diego Convention Center, then they can stand there but they can’t harass people coming or going.
Unbelievable.
