Bill Crider noted the other day that FX had canceled the private eye show TERRIERS. After a less than stellar pilot, the show got better and rapidly became a can’t miss for me. Apparently not for a lot of other people though. It didn’t get a lot of promotion from FX and the pilot may have caused people not to check it out again. I don’t know.
I thought the theme song was superior and here’s an extended version I like:

Thirty years ago and a day, I got up and went to work, not knowing what I was about to learn. John Lennon had been murdered the night before. It was a Monday night and I’d watched the first half of the football game before retiring to bed, thus missing Howard Cosell’s horrible news announcement.
It was all people were talking about at work and I learned later that one of my sisters had seen the announcement and wanted to call somebody, being shocked, but because of the lateness of the hour, did not do so. We were all lost for a time.
Thirty years ago today John Lennon was murdered. He was forty years of age.
