The 2012 Super Bowl is finally upon us and I hope we get a good game. I think I’m going to go with the Giants on this one. My great nephew, Zane Hazzard, adores Eli Manning. That’s him in the picture with his grandmother, my sister, Jean, and some other fellow.
What the score might be? I have no idea. I’ve never been much of a prognosticator and am far from an expert. The folks that handle betting seem to favor the Patriots, but almost everyone on ESPN think the Giants are hot and on another mission.
We’ll see.

update:
Giants win and Eli Manning is the MVP!

AS a die hard Cowboy fan, I don’t care for or like either team. For me, this is super bore 2012.
However, I expect a PATRIOTS win and a revolting new level of hero worship by the media regarding Tom Brady.
You’re probably right, Kevin. I’m a long time “Skins fan. Neither of our teams seem to do much lately but break their fans’ hearts. I’m not sure we can expect anything else as long as current ownerships continue to meddle instead of letting people that really know the game run things.
I don’t know enough about the Redskins and the owner to meaningfully comment though, from all appearances at this distance, he seems to want to be a mini Jerry Jones.
I had thought Jerry had learned his lesson and would back off before the season started. That didn’t happen.
Millionaires and their toys I guess.
I long for those days when a ‘Skins/Cowboys game meant something. I remember saying, playfully, that if the ‘Skins only won two games a year, as long as it was the two Cowboy games… Then that year came along when theyonly won four, but two were against the ‘Boys….
You get what you wish for I suppose.
Maybe one of these days, Jones and Snyder will wise up. George Steinbrunner did and the Yankees stopped being the joke they had become.
I’ll root for the Giants as well, primarily because of Eli. Or make that solely because of Eli
As I said elsewhere, this Northeast Bowl is a real ho-hum for me, being out here on the Left Coast. The sun is out and it’s be in the mid-50s, so I’ll be out in the garden, doing some Winter pruning, after which I’l curl up in the library and read.
I just finished a book by Leo Bruce, and need to pick something to read next, always an enjoyable task.
A game like this cries out for the invention of a way for both teams to lose. If I had to root for one or the other it would be the Giants. I thought the Patriots got off ‘way too easy on that cheating scandal a few years ago.
My new arrivals just went up… since I’m not watching the game I thought I get something useful done.
