Omega Blue is a unit set up by the FBI to deal with difficult cases. Slade Wilson is heir leader.

In this future world, 2033, the U.S. went bankrupt eight years before.

As the book opens, Slade and the team are raiding a jackal operation, a group that deals in body organs for sale, most taken from the homeless and disenfranchised. They run into a firestorm with oriental thugs, in this case Koreans they learn with body augments that make them tougher to bring down.

Later the few arrested prove to have diplomatic immunity and can’t be held. Evidence they turn leads them to a Mafia thug named DiVarco tied to them out of Boston.

Someone high up is hindering Slade’s investigation and making attempts through a pet Congressman to disband Omega. Or at least divert them.

A action filled book as Slade continues bulling through the obstructions in pursuit of the folks behind it all. Some claim Omega is little better than the criminals they pursue. But Slade is no criminal, though he’s not above skirting a law or two to get those who hide behind those laws to rip the folks off.

We can also see a tender side to the Omega leader. He’s a father with an autistic daughter and an uncaring mother. A new procedure involving virtual reality may help, but his insurance is threatened by his uncompromising attitude to the jackal network.

OMEGA BLUE is the ebook release of a nineties novel. there wasa second, I eagerly await the next one, and hope they do well enough to warrant Mr. Odom writing more.

One can only hope.
