Another band of which I’ve grown quite fond .
Here’s a second video:
Best duo I can remember. Thanks to Bill Crider for turning me on to them.
Once again, McCain seems to be grasping for anything he can to sway voters his way. Now he’s seized on Obama”s “lipstick on a pig” phrase as a sexist remark against Governor Palin. He probably thinks that because he used the same phrase in reference to Hillary Clinton’s health care plans last fall. Palin also used a similar remark in describing the difference between a pit bull and a hockey mom at the Republican convention.
They are demanding an apology from Obama for calling the Governor a pig.
Obama was a guest on David Letterman’s show last night and talked about it. He didn’t apologize. It was a common phrase in Illinois and he was referring to McCain’s economic plans. “If I had meant it like that, she would be the lipstick.” Then he gave that personable little grin and said no more, In that context, it doesn’t take a “rocket scientist”, as the trite old saying goes, to figure out who the pig would be.
The longer this campaign goes on, the more disappointed I become In John McCain. This is a man for which I once had a great deal of respect. I still appreciate the horrors he must have went through while a POW.
But he’s either changed a great deal or he was never the man he pretended to be for so many years. He demonstrated his unfitness for office by picking Palin in a naked attempt to grab the female vote and please the religious base at the same time. He showed disrespect for the intelligence of women and put the security of our country below his desire to be President. Country first went out the window like s*** through a goose.
I’ve said it before. I’ve been a Republican for forty years, though I’ve always voted for who I thought was the best candidate, never mind party affiliations. I supprted McCain in 2000 over Bush and voted Gore and Kerry in the general elections. These last eight years have frankly made me embarrassed to admit being Republican. The folks in charge of the party these days seem to be interested in nothing more than power and the benefits that brings. Unless your wealth is in the seven figure range, they don’t seem to care what happens.
