Jim Abbott is a man who was born with no right hand. Yet he worked hard and was able to make it all the wat to the Major Leagues as a pitcher. He bounced around a number of teams and had what many would consider an unexceptional career.
Born with one hand!
That makes all the difference. On this day in 1993, while pitching for the Yankees, he threw a no hitter. Only 221 have been thrown since 1900.
These days Abbott is a motivational speaker. Perfect.
Congratulations on this sixteenth anniversary of such a starry accomplishment. And, as noted, an inspiration to a lot of people.
