I love college basketball above all other sports except possibly pro football. It’s the closest thing to amateur basketball around these days, what with The Olympics filled by pro players now. Of course, college sports are not really amateurs in my mind anyway. Theoretically, they are getting a free college education to play basketball and, since that price is not cheap, what are these guys doing but playing for money? Most of the ones headed to one of the pro leagues are going after a year, possibly two, anyway.
Still, I love watching the basketball tournament the NCAA holds at the end of the season, mainly the ACC teams that make it, with the exception of the Tarheels of course. Being a Duke fan, it just goes against the grain to pull for them.
They announced the sixty-five teams filling the brackets this afternoon and the ACC managed to get six into the field, excluding the Tarheels(heh-heh), with Duke getting the third number one seed.
I want to wish all the ACC teams luck. At least until if and when one might meet Duke. Blogging during the weekends will be sporadic at best the next few weeks.
