In following the antics of Arizona’s governor, Jan Brewer, on Jeff Mariotte\'s fine blog, I’m reminded of the Albert Einstein quote:
THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN GENIUS AND STUPIDITY IS THAT GENIUS HAS IT’S LIMITS.
Or even Alexandre Dumas:
I PREFER ROGUES TO IMBECILES, BECAUSE THEY SOMETIMES TAKE A REST.
Brewer is an unelected governor, being the next in line as Secretary of State, when president Obama selected Janet Napolitano to serve as Secretary of Homeland Security. Brewer is the one who signed in the Support Our Law Enforcement and Safe Neighborhoods Act. You know, the one which makes it illegal for aliens to not have proper papers, to aid such people, and/or transport them, and allowing police to stop at will and check any “suspicious” individuals.
Brewer is running a campaign for election now and at a recent debate, her one and only debate it seems, she froze while reading a prepared statement, admitting later that she couldn’t even have given her name then if asked. Jay Leno quipped on that that would get her deported under that law.
Seriously, she may get elected inspite of all the glaring flaws displayed. That’s why I think the Einstein quote is relevant here.
