A Murder Before Eden – Alison Pratt: a true crime tale set in my home town. It happened a few years before I was born and the author is a member of the family of the murder victim.
Assault of The Mountain Man – William W. Johnstone with J. A. Johnstone: the latest Smoke Jensen western featuring the late author’s character.
War of The Worlds: Global Dispatches – edited by Kevin J. Anderson: a collection of stories by nineteen authors of famous real life folks that witnessed the Martian invasion. A neat idea, some people involved were Mark Twain, Jules Verne, Albert Einstein, Teddy Roosevelt, Rudyard Kipling, among others.
Stranglehold – Ed Gorman: the second Dev Conrad mystery.
Tama of The Light Country – Ray Cummings: a sword and planet adventure from the fifties with this first book publication in the sixties.
Last Seen Wearing – Hillary Waugh: a mystery recommended by Jerry House one Friday for Forgotten Books.
Empire of The Gods(review copy) – David Stag: a first novel that looks interesting. Aliens invade the Earth and their technology shuts down civilization. They load billions of humans aboard their ships and depart, leaving a devastated planet behind. Now seventy-five years later, they have returned. The village attacked and it’s inhabitants taken is a small farming community. One taken, young Linus, is our hero. Told in first person, I’ve started it and it looks to be good.
Beat on The Brat(ebook) – Nigel Bird: a collection of stories, a one day freebie. His other collection was good, I couldn’t resist.
Ravenwood(ebook) – Nathan Lowell: the first book in the Tanyth Fairport adventure series.
Miles To Little Ridge(ebook) – Heath Lowrance: David Cranmer’s black U.S. Marshal in a solo adventure. this one was good.
