Their assignment is to slip back into Libya to meet with an Arab Sheikh part of a terrorist organization. He wanted a meeting to pass on important information. Justin is reluctant for a couple of reasons. He’s a terrorist and Libya was where he’d been held prisoner and tortured a bit over a year ago.
One got orders though.
Things go bad immediately, the Sheikh leaving before they arrive as a series of suicide bombers set off explosions at international hotels all over Tripoli. One misfired and the driver was taken prisoner. “Interrogation” by Libyan authorities revealed a plot involving America and sent the two CIS agents to working with the CIA on a supposed assassination plot of the U. S. president during a G-12 Summit meeting.
As Justin and Carrie turn up new clues, attacks are made on them and they get hamstrung by their boss, leaving them to go outside normal operations to figure out what is really going on.
Author Jones has two appealing characters and a writing style that keeps the action moving along, pacing it all nicely while moving toward the inevitable conclusion. He knows how to write thrillers.
