I found all five of Max Allan Collins’ s Mallory novels and had been reading them between other books. I was down to the last one, NICE WEEKEND FOR A MURDER, when Richard Robinson beat me to it and covered it nicely on his blog, THE BROKEN BULLHORN, last Friday. He did an outstanding job and one should read it if they haven’t done so.
As all of Collins’s books, the series was compulsively readable and I was sorry to see it finished. Maybe some day, Mallory will reappear. Who knows.

I haven’t been disappointed by a MAC book yet. I haven’t read this series but will eventually.

I’m eager to read the others, now that I’ve tried this one. Apparently I started the series at the wrong end…

oh, and thanks very much for the nod.
