744092I’m working my way through THE SHORES OF SPACE, one story a day, and having a fine time of it. But we are talking about Richard Matheson here, one of the great writers in this field or whatever other he works in. He’s done novels in every genre, television, movies. Excellence on all fronts. The stories in this collection originally from Bantam in 1957(my edition is from Berkley, February 1979), are all early fifties tales culled from magazines of the period, four from The Magazine of Fantasy and Science Fiction. The others are just listed as copyright by Matheson.

The line-up is as follows:

1: BEING(1954)

2: PATTERN FOR SURVIVAL(1955)

3: STEEL(1956)

4: THE TEST(1954)

5: CLOTHES MAKE THE MAN(1951)

6: BLOOD SON(1951 under the title DRINK MY RED BLOOD)

7: TRESPASS(1953 under the title MOTHER BY PROTEST)

8: WHEN DAY IS DUN(1954)

9: THE CURIOUS CHILD(1954)

10: THE FUNERAL(1955)

11: THE LAST DAY(1953)

12: LITTLE GIRL LOST(1953)

13: THE DOLL THAT DOES EVERYTHING(1953)
