When I started on 42 DAYS FOR MURDER, it was for forgotten books. But a bit of research showed it had already been covered by Davy Crockett’s Almanack a couple of years back.So it became a simple matter for me to switch to my Reading Forgotten Books mode.Evan does a much better review than I likely could, so please check it out.
Let me just say that Thrilling Detecive said Torrey published over two hundred-eighty short stories and longer pieces in the pulp magazines. As Evan points out, this was his only novel though.

Tsk, tsk. As an admirer of your reviews, I must disagree. Good book, though.

I remember that Lewis review, and thought at the time if I ever came across the book I’d try it. Never did, though.
