I thought about calling this post a Reading Forgotten Books. Technically, it isn’t such, though Bill Crider covered Alley Girl before Patti Abbott started the meme. It certainly could fit and the main character is every bit as nasty and immoral as Bill paints him in his review. Check it out as he does a much better job than I could describing Jonathan Craig’s novel.
I’ve never read any of Craig’s Pete Selby novels, though I believe I read a short story in a collection of PI tales though. Probably need to find a Selby book or two.
For more Forgotten books, as always on Fridays, check out Patti Abbott over on her blog, Pattinase.

Just picket up one of Craig’s procedurals and am greatly looking forward to it – otherwise a new author for me. Thansk Randy.

You can’t go wrong with Jonathan Craig. The Pete Selby books are well worth reading. And they’re available online for cheap.

I thought I was pretty well read until I started visiting these forgotten book posts.

I’ve slowly been reveiwing all the Pete Selby/Stan Rayder novels at my blog. Click here for all of them on one page. I think I’m up to book seven. I also reviewed So Young, So Wicked, a Breweresque noir. I own this book and will get to it eventually.
BTW – ALLEY GIRL was reissued as ROGUE COP, but both editions tend to run in the high end these days. But I couldn’t find a single copy of ROGUE COP for sale! If anyone is looking for a used copy online be prepared for steep prices.
