I’m a week late to the party. It was on September 24, 1968 that THE MOD SQUAD aired it’s first episode. It was a favorite of my teenage years(I think I had a crush on Peggy Lipton). Back then it was either crime shows or the fading westerns, whose heyday was long past though a few still held on.
The books shown were all by Richard Deming, except Home Is Where The Quick Is by William Johnston. It was billed on the cover as the first of a new series, though no other appeared.

I remember buying and reading all those Deming novels when they were new. I thought they were pretty good.

Hey, who DIDN’T have a crush on Peggy Lipton, she was ideal of the time, thin, pretty, long straight blonde hair… I only watched the show a couple of times, I don’t remember it being that good, in spite of the effort to tap into the times.
